Karen has been involved in education for sixteen years.  She has taught fifth grade, seventh grade English, at-risk students, ESL students, and has coached cheerleading.  She moved from Arkansas to Indiana seven years ago.  She has been an assistant principal at Northside Middle School in Muncie, IN, before moving to Glen Acres!  She absolutely loves Glen Acres and its students!

Mrs. Combs, when she’s not at school, loves to do all kinds of outdoor activities such as fishing, canoeing, swimming, running, and horseback riding. She has a husband named Dennis who works for Delta Airlines, an nine year old daughter named Jacklyn who is in fifth grade, and two white fluffy dogs named Snowball and Gracie Jane. 

Mrs. Combs also likes to travel, and she’s been to 40 states and Australia.  Spending time reading, cooking, and  getting to know Glen Acres students and families are also thing she enjoys. She especially likes to travel home and see her family in Arkansas, and she LOVES to watch all the Arkansas Razorback sports (although, she is learning to watch Purdue as well!)
