
Lafayette Tecumseh Jr. High School provides a variety of extra-curricular activities. We believe that young people need an opportunity to work in a group, practice leadership skills, develop school spirit, and explore in more detail activities you really enjoy. We encourage students to get involved at Tecumseh by joing a club, participating in a sport, or being a member of one of our organizations.

You have an opportunity to be members of numerous clubs, organizations, and activities at Tecumseh which include:
Dream Team Pride Club
Purpose: The focus is on planning and implementing Community and school service learning projects for the entire school. Projects nclude Red Ribbon Week, drug education/prevention activities, monthly Board Game Events, canned food drives, Valentines for Veterans, school beautification gardens, Spring Bunny Bags for Community Health Clinic, or any other approved projects that students propose. Meets weekly
FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes)
FCA is a Christian club that meets weekly before school. We always have food, games, and a lesson. All are welcome!
Student Council
The student council is an organization that serves as the official representative of the students in all matters of concern to the entire school.
The student council is composed of representatives from each team. Each representative must have at least a "C" average. The president, vice-president, and secretary of the student body serve as officers of the council. The activities of the council are guided by faculty sponsors appointed by the principal. All decisions of the council are subject to the approval of the principal.
All officers of the student council must have attended Tecumseh for one semester, must maintain a grade average of "B," and must be in grades 7 or 8. The president must be in grade 8.
Selection details for team representatives, president, vice-president, and secretary of the student council will be announced by the student council sponsors.
The purposes of the council are
- Promote better understanding between student and faculty.
- Develop school spirit and loyalty.
- Provide a forum for the expression of student opinion.
- Develop good sportsmanship.
- Encourage the practice of good school citizenship.
- Develop high ideals of personal conduct.
- Interest students in serving the community.
- Develop respect for school property.
Parties & Dances:
Parties and other activities will be scheduled during the school year. They will be scheduled either immediately after school or in the evening depending on the nature of the activity.
