The Board of Trustees invites nominations and applications for Superintendent due to the retirement of our current superintendent. Lafayette School Corporation is one of the premier urban public school districts in Indiana. The Board and community seek an empathetic, visionary individual with strong leadership skills in curriculum direction, budgetary affairs, staff negotiation, legislative and regulatory matters, and public relations.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Senior level leadership experience in a public school system:
- Urban school experience preferred
- Doctorial level degree, ABD, or Ed.S.
- Hold or be capable of securing an Indiana Superintendent license
- Application and Selection Process requires:
- Cover letter explaining why the candidate is a good fit for the position
- Resume giving a summary of professional work experiences
- List of References
- Completed application form
Search will remain open until position is filled. For optimal consideration, materials should be submitted by October 28, 2011. Initially, candidate’s names and materials will remain confidential, but identities of finalists will be subject to public disclosure. Salary will be commensurate with experience and the comparable market value of the candidate. The Board anticipates naming a new Superintendent in January, 2012 with a transition period during the spring and early summer. The successful candidate would be expected to assume fully the position of Superintendent in July, 2012.
